About
Iona Fulton
Physiotherapist
I am an experienced physiotherapist working in the NHS for over 12 years in the fields of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and specialising in Woman's Health. As well as currently working within a fantastic team at Lorn and Islands Hospital I have a passion for all things pilates. I delivered my first pilates class 8 years ago and use it daily within my clinical practice to treat and prevent a wide range of conditions.
Pilates aims to strengthen the body through controlled movements, with particular focus on core strength. It improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance throughout the body. Classes focus on body alignment, coordination and balance and understanding of the core muscles aiding stability.
Physiotherapist led pilates allows for physiotherapy knowledge and expertise to be applied throughout classes and adaptations to exercises provided as necessary for certain injuries and conditions. You can feel assured that exercises will be performed safely, effectively and modified to the appropriate level for your ability
